In 2005, I led the campaign to save the London-Penzance 'Night Riviera' sleeper train. More than 8000 people signed petitions, wrote letters, and campaigned to save this vital link to the south west. Supporters included all five of Cornwall's MPs, local authorities across Devon and Cornwall, and local celebrities, such as Lord George, Eden Project founder Tim Smit, and hotelier Olga Polizzi.

The campaign garnered extensive coverage in national and print media, as well as broadcast media including Sky News, Radio 4, Radio 5, BBC and IRN local radio, and local television stations.
